Review of War Poppy by Nicole Lynne

My Rating of 3 out of 5 Stars

War Poppy by Nicole Lynne

A story about the heartbreaking repercussions of war, the grief, love and heartbreak that is felt and suffered. Having witnessed his best friend killed in battle, Brandon goes AWOL and takes to bare knuckle fighting to cope with his grief and despair. But when Poppy (Friend and Best Friend’s Widow) tracks him down, she believes that they are better together than apart, but as the strain of life and life after war, can these two finally find the peace within themselves with each other?

A very well written story but unfortunately I couldn’t connect with Poppy and Brandon. I felt Poppy was unable to stick up for herself where Brandon was concerned, no matter what he did or said to her she just took it and he was beyond cruel to her throughout, I did however like Poppy’s friend Hope, she was feisty, stood her ground and let no one walk all over her.
Overall this story is a heartbreaking, gut-wrenching and tear-jerker of a read

Review of Silenced by Leddy Harper

My Rating of 4 out of 5 Stars

Silenced by Leddy Harper
Silenced is a heartbreaking and gut wrenchingly tragic in parts, A story of a broken boy living with a heartbreaking past and also has the scars to prove it, and the best friend he finds comfort with next door.
Living with his aunt, Killian’s only means of communication is writing everything down in a sketchpad, when he befriends the girl next door Rylee, a wonderful friendship and love begin to blossom.
An emotionally charged story of survival, bravery and love. It tugs on the heart strings and it made it so easy to fall in love with Killian and Rylee and I’m sure I had glassy eyes from time to time. A beautifully well written story by Leddy.

Review for Wicked Charming by Nazarea Andrews

My Rating of 3 out of 5 Stars

Review

Cinderella meets a Sex Club. This is the dirtiest fairytale I’ve read. Samuel Charming has it all, he’s rich, sexy and owns a sex club, The Kingdom but he’s bored. But when his mother pushes him to settle down, his friends come up with a plan: Audition all the submissives at the kingdom, But that proves hard, when the only woman Samuel wants, is the feisty bar girl, Celeste who always challenges him, Can Celeste be his super sexy, feisty and Submissive Cinderella?

Wicked Charming is a modern twist of the Cinderella fairytale with a sexy BDSM twist on it, The BDSM aspect was not over the top or full on but it was just enough. This Sensual twist on a classic fairytale is worth a read.

Review of Pleasing the Manwhore by Jenna Fox

My Rating of 3 out of 5 Stars

Taffi Watkins is determined to escape her abusive home, and start her life in a new town, little did she know her new job would land her in jail.
Enter Sullivan Cooper, her knight in shining armour who comes to her rescue, but her rescue comes with an arrangement!
This book is very similar to Fifty Shades to Grey, so if you are a fan of this, this is the book for you. Hot Dirty Talking Alpha Male, handcuffs, BDSM the works, Sullivan is much older than Taffi which some people may not like but if you can get pass that, then you will enjoy it. It does end on a cliffhanger but it’s not long till book 2 is out, Valentine’s Day to be exact.

Review of Brad by Violet Peters

My Rating 3 out of 5 stars

Brad Matthias is the CEO of Matthias Enterprises, he’s a playboy and rarely goes back to the same woman for seconds. This book is his journey through the ups and downs of life from college days to starting work as a CEO.
This is Violet’s debut book and it was pretty good for a first. A story of love, heartbreak, grief and joy. A heartwarming and heartbreaking read at times but overall a true joy to read.

Paying Daddy’s Debt by Alexa Riley

3.5 stars I read this in an hour before work.

When I need a quick fix, a smutty palette cleanser then the purvey princesses are my go-to, and they don’t fail! It’s not taboo as such, Jasmine is 18 and in high school and Ash is an “older man”, it was never revealed how old Ash actually was, I pinned him late 20’s, but it wouldn’t surprise me with AR if he was in his 50’s.

If you love AR then you’ll love these characters, Ash is the dominant controlling alpha, but Jasmine is his princess and he will give her the world, they collide together, and in true AR style they are dirty as fuck and make the perfect combo!

When Ash Carpenter imagines a schoolgirl, the image doesn’t match her. She wears long skirts that are sort of frumpy. Her bulky sweaters hide her shape, and her hair is always in a messy bun. Her tennis shoes are clunky and worn, and there are runs in her thick tights. Her dark-framed glasses hide some of her face…but not all of it. Because he’s caught sight of those ice-blue eyes, and they’ve pierced him to his core.

She walks by his office every day, but one afternoon she’s missing. It’s then Ash finally decides he’s tired of waiting and it’s time to collect what he’s owed. She’ll come with him, because there’s no other choice. She’ll pay her daddy’s debt any way Ash sees fit.

Warning: Oh, honey, this is about to get filthy. If your delicate sensibilities can’t handle the dirty, then step aside for those of us who can. It’s quick, but it’s just the right length, if you know what I mean. *slow wink, elbow nudge, goofy snort*

Alexa Riley is two sassy friends who got together and wrote some dirty books. They are both married moms of two who love football, donuts, and obsessed book heroes.
They specialize in insta-love, over-the-top, sweet, and cheesy love stories that don’t take all year to read. If you want something SAFE, short, and always with a happily ever after, then Alexa Riley is for you!

Review of The Last Boss’ Daughter by Sam Mariano

The Last Boss’ Daughter by Sam Mariano

My Rating 5 out of 5 Stars

This was my first book by this author and it won’t be my last. I enjoy my mafia reads and this took me by surprise, not too dark like most mafia reads but it didn’t need it. It had a great storyline, with great characters.

Annabelle is Sassy and can definitely stick up for herself. She was an amazing and strong character and I loved some of her one liners.
Liam appears cold and brutish but his attraction to Annabelle, this attraction is undeniable from the start. He is not without his issues, he has a damaged soul but you cannot deny his walls fall down when he is around Annabelle.

Told from duel POVs, This is an intriguing and captivating read from start to finish with a bit of mystery thrown in.

Review of Gravity by Lauren Runow

Gravity by Lauren Runow

My Rating 5 out of 5 Stars

Gravity is an emotional charged story of childhood best friends that survive plenty ups and downs through the course of there lives together. Lily and Trevin’s road is by no means easy they certainly did walk a rocky and difficult road at times.
Lily and Trevin have been friends since childhood but when Trevin gets his dream break it tests their relationship to the maximum. While Lily is left behind as Trevin lives his dreams out on stage. Fate has to step in, but can these two find there way back to each other when it seems like fate just doesn’t appear to be in their corner?
A heartfelt, emotional and romantic story, that will have you leaves you trying to push these two together yourself and yelling as the cruelness of fate just keeps tearing them apart.
