Review: Faux Pas by Natasha Madison

Faux PasFaux Pas by Natasha Madison

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Quatre étoiles

Qui ne pourrait pas tomber amoureux d’un vigneron dans la ville de l’amour?

I loved the concept of Faux Pas, Alex was so swoon worthy, and Meghan was very relatable. The whole 5 day fling with a twist was entertaining, endearing and who wouldn’t want free food, unlimited wine and an Alpha français on their arm.

Natasha always brings us great support characters in her books, and Faux Pas was full of them.

The only downside for me as a reader was I felt the French was over used. Given that they all appeared to speak really good English, I felt that some of the wordier French content could have been left out, mainly because then to repeat the wordy text in English, just spoilt it a little for me.

But all in all another great romance from Natasha Madison

Love, Sincerely, Yours by Sara Ney & Meghan Quinn

Love, Sincerely, YoursLove, Sincerely, Yours by Sara Ney & Meghan Quinn

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When 2 of my favourite LOL romance writers come together they don’t disappoint. I’m a sucker for office romances it’s my favourite troupe, and then to throw in my favourite writing style (emails) it had win win all over it.

Rome and Peyton were more of a classic normally everyday romance, there was no instalove, Peyton had been crushing on the boss for years before he noticed her, but when he did it was explosive.

My only disappointment in the book, and which didn’t make it a 5 star was the ending, it all felt a little rushed and unfinished. The “leak” was a pivotal storyline towards the end but it was never concluded or eluded that it will reappear in Hunters book.

Overall though a brilliantly styled out office rom-com.

Review: Down Beat by Max Henry

Down Beat (Dark Tide Book 1)Down Beat by Max Henry

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A real roller-coaster of emotions, raw, edgy and honest, not your usual feel good romance, but a bitter sweet love story.

For this review I really am going to keep it short and to the point. I don’t want to give anything away, I read this book without reading the blurb, without speaking to friends about the storyline, it was however, recommended by a friend who said it was amazing and her book of the year, that’s all I needed to know to start reading, and that’s where I’m leaving it for you. By far one of my favourite books of the year!

Max Henry, you have captured, broke, and remended my heart!

Review: Text 2 Lovers by K. Webster & J.D. Hollyfield

Text 2 LoversText 2 Lovers by K. Webster

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I know I know, I say it all the time text/email based books are my kyptonite, but why has it taking me so long to read Text 2 Lovers, no fucking idea, it’s been on my Kindle since release, but just one that got trapped among the masses and sadly over looked until now.

This book was fab, it was laugh out loud, hot as sin and just total fiction, I mean what’s the chances you’d text a random number and find a super hot Ram of your own?!

Ramsey (Ram) and Dani had the connection off the bat, the texts, sexts and phone calls until eventually meeting face to face. But the hilarity that surrounds them, was mainly from Ram’s brother Rome and Dani’s bestfriend Andie, these 2 nailed it and really added value to the storyline. I’m hoping they get a book of their own.

Review: Dirty Bitches MC: Season 1

Dirty Bitches MC: Season 1Dirty Bitches MC: Season 1 by Avelyn Paige

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A fab fun read! 4 sassy bitches and 4 alpha hot as hell males.

I liked that each of the 4 novellas centered not only around the present but we got a good glimpse of the past, especially as each book was just over 20% of the overall novel, the authors did an amazing job of filling each book with emotion, laughs, sass and sex.

My favourite duo was Stiletto and Pryor, there was just something extra sensual with those two, but Titz was the funniest, poor Links and her garden was the butt of most jokes.

Its certainly not your usually dark MC read, but it was a great little treat.

Review: Perversion by T.M. Frazier

Perversion (Perversion Trilogy, #1)Perversion by T.M. Frazier

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holy shit T.M. Frazier that was a mind fuck from start to finish, and I LOVED EVERY SINGLE WORD!!!! I salute you.

perversion | pərˈvərZHən |

noun

1 the alteration of something from its original course, meaning, or state to a distortion or corruption of what was first intended: a scandalous perversion of the law| all great evil is the perversion of a good.

2 sexual behavior or desire that is considered abnormal or unacceptable.

From the prologue to the final page I was gripped (I didn’t read the preview, I want to go into Possession blind)

Perversion is the first in a new triology by the queen of The Causeway T.M. Frazier, not since Smoke earlier this year I have read a book more gritty. Perversion centres around the life and times of Grim and Emma-Jean (aka Tricks). They first meet as broken teenagers, but that brief encounter changed both of their lives forever, and they never forgot. Now 5 years later they are part of Larking’s biggest rival gangs, if you think the Capulets and Montague’s had issues, Romeo and Juliette was a fairytale compared to what unravels when Grim and Tricks are reunited.

A dark, intense 5 star novel filled with passion!

Review: Dirty Headlines by L.J. Shen

Dirty HeadlinesDirty Headlines by L.J. Shen

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If there’s one thing you know you are going to get from L.J. Shen is a smouldering hot alpha male and Célian is up there with the best over them, sitting nicely between Vicious and Troy.

I love the chemistry between Célian and Jude, they are electric together, and Jude certainly knows how to hold her own against Célian not just in the bedroom but also on the newsroom floor. Célian maybe the boss but Jude is definately his equal in every way. When the newsroom retreat into their shells when he walks through the office, Jude is the one that slams open the door without knocking, and that’s the attraction to Célian, she intelligent, beautiful, fiesty and full of balls.

Don’t be fooled by my review, it’s not a lovey dovey rom-com, it’s full of little twists and turns until the very end.

Review: Crew (Crew #1) by Tijan

Crew (Crew #1)Crew by Tijan

My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

Crew is one of those books with an enticing cover and a captivating sympnosis, so when I received this for review I was really ecstatic Tijan is an absolute must read author for me

What I Liked:
The Concept
A Crew is a new concept to me, a gang is a gang, but a Crew is different, close friendships, a brotherhood, a crew is not out for blood, to terrorise or destruct, to rule over turf, it’s based on member size, it can be an intimate crew of 4 or 30 but the overacrching principles are the same. A crew is there to protect, to honour, to have each others backs. I liked the concept because it was fresh and intriging.

How Interesting It Is
As above, the concept is unique, thus it’s also intriguing. There were so many things that happened in the book. Hushed whispers, stolen moments and secrets fill this book, and I couldn’t help but be captivated.

The Characters
Every character was complex and captivating. Bren, Cross, Jordan, K, Race, Alex, Taz and all the ‘Normals’, held the story, they carried every page as you didn’t know what was going to come at you next.

What I Didn’t Like:
Slooooooooow Burn
You quickly undertand the Crew’s complexity, and you knew some what the direction Tijan was taking her characters in, however, it had a tendency to drag at some parts. It’s a big book, so the first 55% narrative was tough going, and took awhile for me to get through it, but once it hit the half way point, it picked up traction and really started moving in pace and story.

Overall:
I enjoyed reading Crew, but at the same time I felt like it was too dragging and felt like too little information was given, so for me 3.5/5. I really want to know what happens next though!

3.5 dragging but interesting stars
